Alameda Crown Memorial Beach. The Crown Memorial Beach is a 2-mile long beach in Alameda offering a variety of free attractions for visitors, including a walking and biking path along the water, picnic facilities, tennis courts, baseball fields, a playground, and a bird sanctuary. Sailboat rentals are also available. The Alameda Parks Department hosts an annual sand castle contest at the beach in June.

Lake Chabot. Lake Chabot is a 315-acre lake in the heart of Castro Valley. With miles of parkland, hiking trails, fantastic lake fishing, and a marina offering a bait shop, boat rentals and a cafe, Lake Chabot is the perfect place to spend a relaxing day with friends or family.
